A engineering student Adeeb Mansuri from Ahmedabad designed solar-powered umbrellas to help police officers endure the scorching summer heat during the COVID-19 lockdown.

These innovative umbrellas, equipped with solar panels that generated up to 20 watts of power, featured built-in fans for cooling and charging sockets for mobile devices, offering much-needed relief to the officers working long hours under the sun.

Each umbrella, costing around ₹3,000, was provided to the police force free of charge, and the initiative received tremendous support, with additional requests for more units.

Adeeb's creative solution not only showcased his engineering skills but also demonstrated the power of innovation in supporting frontline workers during tough times.
