Private companies reduced their exposure last year, selling 3204 BTC, while ETF issuers accumulated 518,018 BTC. Together, these three categories acquired 845,955 BTC in 2024.
To put it in context, approximately 217,518.75 BTC were mined throughout 2024, meaning that corporate and institutional demand was nearly 4 times greater than the mined supply.
The incorporation of balance-based ownership is increasingly measurable. Publicly disclosed purchases now represent a significant portion of the circulating supply, reducing the availability of liquid BTC in secondary markets.
