YouTube has paid over ₹21,000 crore to Indian creators, artists, and media companies in the past three years. It now plans to invest another ₹850 crore over the next two years to boost India’s growing creator economy.
This announcement came from YouTube CEO Neal Mohan during the first World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) held in Mumbai.
YouTube revealed that over 100 million Indian channels posted content last year, with more than 15,000 crossing 1 million subscribers. Its wide reach in India has enabled many to turn content creation into a successful career.
