Visa's Stablecoin Move
Visa is launching stablecoin-backed bank cards in Latin America, bringing the worlds of crypto and traditional finance one step closer.
This innovation allows developers to issue cards across multiple countries with a single API integration. During payments, stablecoins are automatically converted into fiat currency, making them instantly spendable. Users in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Ecuador will now be able to shop using their stablecoin balances. These cards will be accepted by over 150 million Visa-supported merchants worldwide.
This pilot project highlights just how serious Visa is about crypto integration. The company also plans to expand into Europe, Asia, and Africa in the near future.
