#StablecoinPayments 🌎💳 Visa launches cards to pay with crypto in Latin America
Visa partnered with Bridge (from Stripe) to launch cards that allow you to pay with stablecoins as if they were pesos or dollars, directly from your crypto wallet. It starts in Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Chile.
You pay at any merchant that accepts Visa, and the balance in USDT or USDC is automatically converted to local currency. No complications.
💥 Why is it important?
Because in 2024, stablecoins moved more money than Visa globally: $12 trillion compared to $11.6 trillion from Visa. They are no longer just for trading; they are increasingly used as real money.
🔍 Why in Latin America?
Because we have inflation, informal use of digital dollars, and many people without access to the banking system. This type of card allows you to use your crypto as regular money, without selling or converting it first.
🚀 What's coming?
Visa wants to take this to Europe, Africa, and Asia. And it does so because the crypto market is advancing quickly (PayPal, Circle, etc.). This is not a trend; it’s a real way to modernize money.
🧠 In summary
Stablecoins are no longer just for the crypto world: they are entering everyday life. In Latin America, where people need real solutions, this could change the rules of the game.
