World’s first wheeled robot dog powers through mud, rubble, mountains.
China's Deep Robotics has launched the Lynx M20, a tough, all-terrain robot built for harsh industrial environments. Designed for tasks like infrastructure inspection, disaster response, and scientific exploration, the M20 easily handles rough terrain such as mud, rocks, debris, steep slopes, narrow bridges, and even water.
Claimed to be the world’s first robot to combine fast wheels with flexible legs, it weighs just 33 kilograms (72 pounds), making it easy for one person to carry. Despite its light weight, it can carry 15 kilograms (33 pounds) and support up to 50 kilograms (110 pounds).
It runs for 2.5 hours, travels up to 12 km (7.4 miles), and uses hot-swappable batteries to cut downtime. Built for tough environments, it's dust- and water-resistant (IP66) and works in temperatures from -20°C to 55°C.
