Russian Satellite News Agency Washington, April 30 - U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he does not believe polls indicating a decline in his support.
Trump said at a rally in Michigan broadcasted on U.S. television:
“We must combat fake polls; they interview more Democrats than Republicans. I checked in recent days, they asked a lot of Democrats, very few Republicans.”
Trump claimed that reliable polls would show his support is not at 40%, but over 60%.
Reports indicate that a recent Marist poll conducted for PBS and NPR showed that more than half of Americans disapprove of Trump's actions. The data shows that 55% disapprove of Trump's economic policies; 58% are dissatisfied with tariffs; 53% disapprove of the president's overall performance.
Only 42% of respondents support Trump, which is the worst among the last five presidents at the same point in their terms.
