$USDC Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has criticized The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), calling the latest report from the news portal "EXTREME LACK OF ETHICS", after it was claimed that Tesla's board was actively seeking his replacement as CEO.

The report, published on April 30, stated that the board had contacted recruitment firms due to concerns over Musk's political activity and his divided focus on multiple companies.

Musk criticized the article on X, claiming that the WSJ deliberately published false information and knowingly excluded an "unequivocal denial" from Tesla's board.

The chairwoman of Tesla's board, Robyn Denholm, also issued a strong rebuke early Thursday morning, posting on Tesla's official account on X that the board had not reached out to recruiters.

"This is absolutely false," she said. "The CEO of Tesla is Elon Musk and the board fully trusts his ability to continue executing the exciting growth plan ahead of him".
