How I Identify Warning Signs & Protect Crypto Assets

Keeping digital assets safe is extremely important, especially with more and more projects and airdrops emerging.

Common Warning Signs I Encounter:

- Websites that look similar to the original but have strange URLs

- Project teams without clear identities or fake social accounts

- Smart contracts that are not audited, or not available on explorers

How I Verify Projects:

- Check contract addresses on BSCScan, see if they are active & have genuine interactions

- Join their community on Telegram/Discord, observe admin responses & discussions

- Read reviews from trusted KOL/Web3 researchers

Scam Tactics I Have Encountered:

- “Airdrops” that ask you to connect your wallet & immediately request to approve all tokens

- Fake DMs from impersonated accounts (very typical, be careful!)

- Google forms asking for seed phrases (never fill these out!)

Examples of Airdrops I Avoid:

There was once an airdrop for “Squid Game” that emerged due to the movie's popularity; the website was shoddy & the contract was a copy-paste from another project. The intent to scam was clear.

Remember: It’s better to miss an airdrop than to lose your assets!
