One of the concepts that caught my attention the most since I started in crypto was airdrops.
The idea that you can receive 'free' tokens for interacting with a project or simply by meeting certain conditions sounds too good to be true. But it exists... and it's becoming more and more common.
🔍 What is an airdrop?
It is when a crypto project distributes free tokens to users as a form of promotion, to build community, or to reward those who have used the project from the beginning.
But be careful, it's not magic or easy money. Many airdrops require you to do something first, such as:
Interact with a DApp (decentralized platform)
Use a bridge
Have certain tokens in your wallet
Complete simple tasks like following accounts or sharing information
What I understood is that airdrops are a way to learn by doing. They invite you to try a protocol, learn how it works, and if you meet the requirements... you might get something.
🎯 Is it worth it?
I think so, especially if you're just starting and want to learn more about the ecosystem without investing so much money. But it's also important:
Avoid scams (never share your keys)
Don't obsess over every project that appears
Be patient: some airdrops happen months later
📌 The good thing is that while you search for airdrops, you also get involved in the DeFi world, wallets, layer 2s, etc.
It forces you to move, research, and stay alert. And that, in the end, is part of the learning.
💬 If you're starting out like me, I recommend researching this topic.
And if anyone has experience with airdrops... I'm all ears!
