In the current situation where VCs are starting to invest cautiously, it is very difficult to find a Layer-1 project with good financing to get into early stages.
I just happened to discover one.
The Layer-1 data chain Irys @irys_xyz, which raised $10 million in seed round financing, is currently ready for the testnet.
I have prepared a tutorial for everyone below, but first, let's see why I am optimistic about this project.
First of all, we know that Irys is a data chain that can natively combine data storage and smart contract execution.
Due to the large-scale adoption of AI, data has become a massive market worth $30 trillion, with AWS currently valued at approximately $1.5 trillion and an annual revenue of about $110 billion.
Ethereum L2 spends millions of dollars monthly on temporary data storage.
However, most of it is inaccessible and unstructured, while 95% of high-quality data is monopolized by tech giants.
Irys can make the discovery and monetization of this value possible.
Additionally, intellectual property also requires clear ownership and tokenization.
Therefore, we see that the market capitalization of IP stories is so high.
However, according to Irys's documentation, this is only part of it and can provide better design.
Based on the above, I think this project is promising.
Regarding financing, they completed a $10 million seed round financing in 2024, led by Framework Ventures, with participants including: emniscap, Primitive Ventures, and Berachain co-founder Smokey the Bera, among others.
They plan to conduct Series A financing before the mainnet launch in 2025.
We see that Story raised a total of $150 million, and Walrus raised $140 million, while Irys can genuinely address the issues they aim to solve.
So, the Series A financing for Irys is something to look forward to. It is undoubtedly a golden window for interaction before large-scale financing begins!
So how do we interact for airdrops?
1️⃣ Claim test tokens
🔗https://t.co/LC2fyLBpnt
Just enter your MetaMask wallet address.
2️⃣ Participate in the test project Lofty
🔗https://t.co/cngRfVtlbV
Lofty is similar to Google Drive but runs on the Irys testnet. Users can upload files and choose to share them with others. Files are end-to-end encrypted and completely private. The first 10GB of storage is free; for more storage, you can pay with USDC.
3️⃣ Participate in the test project Irys Arcade
🔗https://t.co/UQlb1XqcHU
You can play games using test tokens, including Tetris, Snake, and more.
Link your wallet in the upper right corner ➡️ choose a game ➡️ pay with test tokens to start playing.
There are still some ecological projects on the way that you can participate in later.
Now the first step is to claim the tokens, but I still haven't managed to get any tokens.
If you have any methods to obtain tokens, please let me know.
Summary:
Compared with the current main competitors in the market, Irys has natural advantages such as better incentive mechanisms, real smart contracts, low price stability, full-chain IP storage, and true permanent storage.
The price is stable and lower than Web2 cloud storage and Web3 competitors, enabling second-level data retrieval and low-cost storage to unlock new application scenarios.
Irys supports temporary storage, permanent storage, and customizable ledgers, allowing developers to choose the most suitable storage duration based on actual needs and flexibly adjust over time.
The cost of data storage is far lower than other solutions in Web2 and Web3, and the price is stable and predictable.
Irys is the first project to natively integrate smart contracts and storage into the same blockchain network, achieving truly programmable data — applications can directly read, modify, and build on each other's datasets.
Verifiability is built-in. Every piece of data and every computational step can be cryptographically proven, supporting trustless AI processes, dataset verification, and auditability.
Performance levels scale. Irys uses a multi-ledger architecture, avoiding congestion, ensuring data can be retrieved instantly, and not slowing down the network as data volume continues to grow.
It is EVM compatible but has been upgraded in data processing, allowing developers to deploy smart contracts using familiar tools.
Designed from the ground up specifically for AI, IP (intellectual property), and the data economy.
So, let's get to it, brothers.
