#AirdropSafetyGuide
Binance recently published an updated guide on security during airdrops, which highlights the increasing number of scams in this area. Scammers often use enticing offers of free tokens to trick users into sharing sensitive information, connecting their crypto wallets to fake websites, or directly transferring assets. Binance recommends using so-called "burner wallets" – temporary wallets with a minimal amount of cryptocurrencies – and thoroughly verifying the legitimacy of airdrops through the project’s official channels and community feedback.
Other recommendations include avoiding unrealistic promises, such as high rewards for minimal effort, and being cautious of phishing techniques, such as emails or websites that differ only slightly from official sources. Binance also emphasizes that it is important to never share private keys or recovery phrases.
This guide is part of Binance’s broader effort to raise awareness about security in the crypto world.
