Not every airdrop is free money — some are just fancy scams in disguise. I’ve dodged a few bullets, so here’s my quick & dirty guide to staying SAFU in the airdrop jungle.

🚨Red flags? Plenty👇🏻

• Dodgy websites with weird URLs

• Projects with zero transparency (who even are these people?)

• Tokens that ask for insane permissions like “infinite spend” — yeah, no thanks.

• Twitter accounts with 100k followers but no real engagement = bot city.

🚨How do I verify stuff?👇🏻

• First stop: check the token contract on Etherscan/Solana explorer — look for verified contracts & past activity.

• Dive into the community. Are real people talking? Or is it just bots and giveaway hunters?

• Look up team members. Can’t find them anywhere online? Major red flag.

• If it smells off, I trust my gut — and my cold wallet stays far away.

🚨Scam tactics I’ve seen:👇🏻

• “Claim now!” links that lead to wallet drainers

• Fake “support” in DMs asking you to “reconnect your wallet”

• Contracts that sneakily steal funds when you just try to “claim” airdrops

• Fake collabs with real projects (name-dropping like it’s cool)

🚨One I dodged?👇🏻

That fake zkSync airdrop last year. Looked legit until I noticed the site URL was slightly off and the token had zero history on-chain. Dodged that rug pull real quick.

Stay sharp out there. Scammers don’t sleep.
