Many people trade contracts without understanding the contract transaction fees. I will clarify this fee issue now.
Assuming you use 100u and open a position with 50 times leverage. That means you are using 5000u to go long or short. The transaction fees at the exchange are generally around 0.04%. So, you need 2u to open a position and 2u to close it. This means that without doing anything, 4u in fees is deducted from your 100u principal. If you open 5 trades in a day, that’s 20u in fees. If you go back and forth with 10 trades in a day, the 100u principal incurs an astonishing 40u in fees.
When you cannot guarantee profits, why not save money? Even if you can make a profit, these fees are essentially thrown away; if you don't take them, the exchange gets all of it. Why not take it? If you want a rebate, in the example above, I can refund you 20u out of the 40u in fees. Over time, this can add up to a significant amount.
