According to PANews, China's Cyberspace Administration has announced a nationwide campaign to tackle the misuse of AI technology. This initiative, set to last three months, aims to address various issues related to AI applications.

The campaign will be conducted in two phases. The first phase focuses on strengthening the governance of AI technology at its source. This includes the removal of non-compliant AI applications and enhancing the management of AI-generated content and its identification. Additionally, efforts will be made to improve the ability of websites and platforms to detect and verify content authenticity.

The second phase will concentrate on addressing the creation and dissemination of rumors, false information, and inappropriate content using AI technology. It will also target activities such as impersonation and the operation of online troll farms. The campaign will involve the removal of illegal and harmful information and the penalization of non-compliant accounts, multi-channel networks (MCNs), and website platforms.
