Fraudsters have started sending physical letters to Ledger users — popular hardware wallets for cryptocurrencies. In these letters, the attackers, posing as an urgent security update, ask the owners to provide their secret seed phrase, which grants full access to the wallet.
The letter looks official: the fraudsters use the Ledger logo, the company's address, and even a support ticket number. They also include a QR code for 'device validation.' The recipient is threatened with limited access to funds if they refuse to follow the instructions.
The Ledger team officially confirmed that such letters are a scam, reminding that they never request seed phrases and do not contact users directly.
It is assumed that the mailing may be related to the Ledger data breach in 2020, when the names, phone numbers, and addresses of more than 270,000 users were published.$XRP $BNB $SOL
