Trump eases the impact of tariffs on the American automotive industry.

A senior official in the White House announced that U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing to take measures to mitigate the impact of tariffs on U.S. automakers, in a move aimed at supporting the local industry and reducing the repercussions of his trade policies.

The U.S. Secretary of Commerce stated in a statement reported by Reuters, "This agreement represents a significant victory for the president's trade policy by rewarding companies that manufacture locally."

According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump will announce measures to reduce some tariffs imposed on imported parts used in car manufacturing within the United States. Cars manufactured outside the country will still be subject to tariffs on automobiles, but they will not be imposed with additional tariffs like those charged on steel and aluminum products.

The secretary considered that the measures to exempt companies from some costs come as a reward to encourage them to manufacture locally.
