SPAR's cryptocurrency payment system works with OpenCryptoPay, a platform developed by DFX Swiss, which uses the Bitcoin Lightning network to enable fast and cost-effective transactions.
To complete the purchase, shoppers simply scan a static QR code shown to them by the cashier at checkout.
