🚨 Something important is happening in Bitcoin and it could change the way it works.

Peter Todd proposed removing the limit on the size of OP_RETURN, the field used to store data on the Bitcoin blockchain. 🧠

Today it only allows 83 bytes and one output per transaction, but in practice, Taproot has already allowed for more flexible storage of information (as happens with Ordinals). 🎨

⚠️ However, others like Luke Dashjr warn that it could open the door to more spam, DoS attacks, and accelerated growth of the blockchain. They prefer to strengthen the rules, not loosen them.
