On April 29, according to Axios, Michigan Democratic Congressman Shri Thanedar introduced seven articles of impeachment against Trump on Monday. The impeachment articles mainly concern obstruction of justice, abuse of power, usurpation of authority, as well as bribery and corruption allegations, primarily related to the concentration of power and personal finances of the president. Thanedar stated that Trump "is unfit to hold the office of president and poses a clear and present danger to the Constitution and democracy of the nation." Reports indicate that, due to the Republican Party currently controlling both the House and Senate, these impeachment measures are almost impossible to pass. Earlier, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff stated at a town hall meeting on April 25 that he supports impeaching President Trump on the grounds that Trump plans to host a private dinner for large holders of his official meme coin TRUMP.
