๐ถ๐นThe Ethereum Fusaka hard fork is set to launch in late 2025
๐โ๏ธChainCatcher reported that according to Cointelegraph, Ethereum co-executive director, Tomas Kajetan Stankzak, revealed that the Fusaka hard fork upgrade is scheduled to be implemented in the third or fourth quarter of 2025, although a specific time has not yet been determined. Core developer Tim Beiko stated that the controversial EVM Object Format (EOF) upgrade has been removed from Fusaka due to technical uncertainties that could affect the progress of the upgrade.
The EOF was originally planned to overhaul the way smart contracts are developed comprehensively through 12 EIP proposals, including introducing the RJUMP instruction to replace the traditional JUMP, adopting organized bytecode containers, and other optimization solutions. Supporters believe this would enhance the efficiency of electronic voting machines, but opponents argue it complicates the system and requires synchronized updates to the development toolchain. A survey on the Ethereum voting platform ETHPulse showed that 39 addresses holding 17745 ETH were against the upgrade.
