Countries' governments own over 463,000 BTC
According to CoinGecko, governments hold more than 463,741 BTC.
Of these, 198,012 BTC are held by the USA.
Ukraine had 256 BTC, which were directed towards military and humanitarian purposes.
As of April 2025, governments of different countries collectively own over 463,741 BTC, which accounts for about 2.3% of the total Bitcoin supply. This is stated in the CoinGecko report.
