Putin Announces Three-Day Ceasefire in Ukraine Starting May 8

Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine, set to begin on May 8 and last until May 11. This ceasefire coincides with Victory Day, commemorating the end of World War II.

The Kremlin has stated that the ceasefire is being enacted “on humanitarian grounds.”

Ukraine has yet to respond to the announcement.
