Vitalik mentioned the account abstraction revolution again: Ethereum's core standards are quietly changing!
On April 27, 2025, Vitalik Buterin responded to community comments and revealed that the Ethereum account abstraction reform has entered a critical middle stage, and the future dominant standard will no longer be the traditional ECDSA account.
The new generation of account design focuses on multi-signature, key update, anti-quantum attack and privacy enhancement. Vitalik specifically mentioned that the 7701 standard is accelerating its implementation, aiming to simplify account transition and build a stronger foundation layer for Ethereum.
If the reform is successful, the security of personal accounts will be greatly improved in the future, but it also means that the wallet ecosystem and on-chain identity system will be completely reshaped. An invisible architectural change may be redefining the true meaning of "decentralization".
The question is: Can Ethereum still guarantee the simplicity of the native user experience? Or will it inadvertently raise the threshold for use and discourage mainstream users?
