China Quietly Lowers Tariffs on Some US Semiconductors
China has quietly lowered some of the tariffs on US-made semiconductors, according to three import agencies in Shenzhen who spoke to CNN on Friday. These tariffs, which were as high as 125%, were part of the ongoing trade tensions between the US and China.
The move suggests that Beijing is trying to protect its vital tech industry from further harm. The long-running trade dispute between the two biggest economies in the world has shaken global markets, disrupted supply chains, and sparked fears of a possible recession.
