Web3 projects or organizations that are infatuated with executives from Web2 backgrounds often find that it's the beginning of a downward spiral. The larger the project, the less time they have to give you space to relearn Web3. Moreover, the higher the traditional position, the more sluggish and slow the mindset shift often is.
I have witnessed several projects being severely exploited, offering very high salaries, hiring someone who knows nothing and allowing them to give chaotic direction – while also bringing in a bunch of bad habits. The project might hope to leverage the traditional resources behind them, but it often doesn't necessarily bring any real resources.
