El Salvador Continues to Buy Bitcoin Despite IMF's Request to Stop

El Salvador continues to increase its Bitcoin holdings, possibly circumventing IMF requests through non-government entities.

According to Cointelegraph, despite the International Monetary Fund (IMF) asking to stop, El Salvador is still buying Bitcoin. The El Salvador Ministry of Finance purchased 7 Bitcoins worth over $650,000 within seven days before April 27.

Rodrigo Valdes, the director of the IMF's Western Hemisphere Department, stated that El Salvador is still adhering to the agreement to stop government Bitcoin accumulation. The IMF agreement may allow Bitcoin purchases through non-government entities.

Blockchain consultant Anndy Lian pointed out that this flexible interpretation allows El Salvador to maintain a Bitcoin-friendly image while obtaining IMF funds to address public debt and reserve issues. #MichaelSaylor暗示增持BTC $BTC
