In Web3, a honey trap is a malicious smart contract that appears to be a regular token, but is intentionally programmed to trap your funds. Such a token may be marketed as the next big launch, but behind the scenes, its underlying code is tampered with, waiting for unfortunate investors to discover that they can never sell the asset.
