$ETH Justin Sun, founder of the Tron blockchain, predicts that the price of Ethereum will rise to US$ 5.000 in the coming months, as Ethereum prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary in July 2025. This bold prediction has made waves in cryptocurrency communities, especially since Ethereum is currently valued at less than US$ 2.000, according to data from Coingecko. Sun shared his opinion on platform X (formerly Twitter), highlighting a personal connection to the Ethereum launch date, which coincides with his birthday on July 30. He took this moment to collaborate with the Ethereum Foundation in promoting the anniversary celebrations. His target price of US$ 5.000 represents an increase of nearly 200% from current levels.

According to reports from the Ethereum Foundation, the 10th anniversary will feature birthday parties globally of all sizes. Organizations and individuals can plan local events to participate in the celebration. To assist in hosting these events, the Foundation's Ecosystem Support Program will reimburse up to US$ 500 in costs per event. Applicants must register by June 15, 2025. The Foundation hopes to establish a “global holiday” atmosphere around the anniversary, with participation from the community across various countries and regions.

Sun did not limit himself to projections – he outlined a concrete plan that he believes would quickly bring Ethereum to the level of US$ 5.000: 1. The Ethereum Foundation should refrain from selling ETH for at least three years to curb supply and promote retention. 2. Instead of token sales, the Foundation could employ lending and staking platforms, such as AAVE, to fund operations. 3. The Foundation should streamline its team, retaining only the best developers and compensating them with better rates to improve production quality. 4. Development should be focused on enhancing the Layer 1 mainnet, rather than diluting resources across many projects.
