LiteFinance: Invest in Ethereum or Bitcoin?

Bitcoin and Ethereum differ in purpose. Bitcoin is the first and most well-known cryptocurrency. It is referred to as 'digital gold' due to its limited supply and role as a store of value. It was created as a replacement for real money, while Ethereum was developed to assist in the creation of decentralized applications with smart contracts.

Transaction speed is another difference between Ethereum and Bitcoin. Ethereum can process around 15 transactions per second, while Bitcoin can only handle seven. With the scaling expansion of the blockchain, the transaction speed in ETH may increase even further.

A common drawback of both Bitcoin and Ether is the high transaction fee. Depending on network congestion, it can rise to several dozen dollars. The main reason is another weak point of first-generation blockchain networks — difficulties with scalability.

Ready to take on the trader. If you need 'digital gold' for long-term storage, Bitcoin may be the better option.
