#PahalgamAttack

On April 22,2025,a devastating

attack occurred in Baisaran Valley near

Pahalgam,Indian-administered Kashmir,

primarily Hindu tourists, and injuring over 20

others.The Resistance Front (TRF),an

Lashkar-e-Taiba,claimed responsibility,

changes in the region.

In response,India accused Pakistan of

supporting the attackers,a claim Pakistan

denies. The incident led to a brief exchange

of gunfire between Indian and Pakistani

troops along the Line of Control, though no

casualties were reported.

India has taken several retaliatory measures,

including suspending a key water-sharing

treaty,revoking visas for Pakistani nationals,

and closing the land border.Pakistan

responded by canceling Indian visas,closing

its airspace to Indian aircraft,and

suspending trade.Pakistan's Defense

flow could be considered an act of war and

hinted at suspending the Simla Agreement.

countries to exercise restraint and resolve

matters peacefully.Meanwhile,Indian

authorities are investigating suspects,

leading to punitive demolitions of homes in

Kashmir.Protests have erupted on both

sides of the border,with demonstrators

reacting vehemently to the unfolding crisis.

The attack has also impacted financial

markets,with the Indian rupee weakening

and stock indices retreating due to

heightened geopolitical tensions.Ruters

face mounting pressure to de-escalate and

engage in dialogue to prevent further

conflict.
