Charles Hoskinson Drops Crypto Bomb!

Predicts #Ethereum Decline Within the Next Decade and Shakes the Crypto Community

In an explosive AMA session on April 23, 2025, Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, challenged the future of Ethereum, stating it might not survive more than 10–15 years.

"I don't think Ethereum will survive more than ten or fifteen years. Layer 2s will continue absorbing all the alpha, people will start fighting, and it will become increasingly difficult for Vitalik to hold it all together through sheer willpower. Users will gradually migrate elsewhere."

Hoskinson harshly criticized Ethereum’s architecture, its governance model, and fundamental components like proof of stake, the accounting model, and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), calling them "self-inflicted wounds" caused by poor decisions made by the Ethereum Foundation.

He noted that Layer 2 solutions are absorbing network activity and acting like "parasites" that may fragment the ecosystem, making it hard to maintain cohesion — even for Vitalik Buterin.

Hoskinson predicts a massive user migration to more scalable and efficient blockchains. However, he did praise Buterin's proposal to adopt RISC-V as a more efficient alternative to the EVM, though he doubts it will be enough to save Ethereum.

These statements have sparked intense debate in the crypto community about the future of one of the world’s leading blockchains..
