President Donald Trump urged companies to set up operations in the United States immediately to avoid the imposition of tariffs, amid the escalation of the trade war with the implementation of new rates.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, again called on Wednesday for major companies in his country to return to the U.S. to avoid the imposition of tariffs, in his first statements after Beijing announced that it would raise tariffs on goods from the United States from 34% to 84%.
"This is an EXCELLENT time to move your COMPANY to the United States of America, as Apple and many others are already doing, in record numbers," wrote the U.S. president on his social network Truthsocial.
On February 24, Apple announced that it will invest more than $500 billion in the United States over the next four years and create 20,000 jobs, in response to a previous call from President Trump for companies to return to production in the country.
In a brief message, the U.S. head of state promised today to these companies 'zero tariffs', 'almost immediate electrical/energy connections and approvals', and that they will not suffer delays due to environmental issues.
"Don't wait, do it now!", he concludes his message, followed by another brief one with his motto and slogan from his two terms: 'Let's make America great again.'
China announced today that it will raise tariffs on goods from the United States from 34% to 84% in response to the additional 50% tariff announced yesterday by that country's president, Donald Trump, which raised the total tariffs on Chinese goods to 104%.
The Finance Ministry of the Asian country indicated in a statement that the new tax will come into effect on April 10 and that it is taking the measure in response to the 'repeated mistake' by the United States of increasing its tariffs on China.
On the other hand, the Commerce Department also added 12 U.S. firms to its export control list, including equipment manufacturers and engineering companies, some of which are related to drones (BRINC), aerospace (Novotech), machinery (Marvin Engineering Company), and radars (Echodyne).
