Metaplanet hits 5,000 BTC milestone, doubles down on crypto strategy

Japanese firm Metaplanet has acquired an additional 145 BTC, bringing its total holdings to 5,000 BTC, with an average acquisition cost of around $85,600 per coin. With Bitcoin currently trading at $92,400, the investment is up by approximately 8%.

This marks the fifth BTC purchase in April, underscoring the company's firm commitment to its crypto accumulation strategy. Last month, Metaplanet also made headlines by appointing Eric Trump, son of President Donald Trump, to its Strategic Advisory Board — citing his business experience and passion for Bitcoin as key assets.

Amid rising institutional adoption, including the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve announced under President Trump and $900 million in spot Bitcoin ETF inflows over the past two days, Metaplanet’s move signals a strong alignment with the growing integration of Bitcoin into national strategies.
