Encountered several Ledger hardware wallets that were reset after entering the wrong password more than three times. The private keys in the hardware wallets have been cleared and cannot be recovered anymore.
Basically, all hardware wallets will clear the private keys after exceeding a certain number of incorrect password entries. For Ledger, it's 3 times, for Trezor, it's 16 times, and other hardware wallets have their own settings as well. Remember, once you make your first incorrect entry on Ledger, do not try again until you are absolutely sure it is correct; Trezor allows for more attempts.
The same goes for iPhone, as entering the wrong password multiple times can lead to permanent lockout, making it impossible to access large amounts of ETH and BTC stored in the phone. We have seen many cases where the amounts of BTC and ETH were quite alarming.
Hope everyone does not make the same mistake again!!!
