#TrumpVsPowell
According to the WSJ, President Trump has privately discussed firing Fed Chairman Jerome Powell several times and is considering former Governor Kevin Warsh as a replacement. However, Warsh himself advised Trump to leave Powell in place until the end of his term in May 2026.
Currently, Trump is continuously pressuring Powell in the media, but to actually fire him, he must bring the matter to the Supreme Court, as the law only allows the removal of the Fed Chairman for just cause.
