Metaplanet Increases Its Bitcoin Portfolio to 4,525 BTC Following a $26.3M Investment

Metaplanet, a publicly-traded company listed on the Tokyo Exchange, has expanded its Bitcoin portfolio by purchasing an additional 319 BTC for approximately $26.3 million. This investment brings the firm's total Bitcoin holdings to 4,525 BTC, valued at $386.3 million.

The company has been strategically increasing its Bitcoin treasury since 2023 through various financial strategies, including direct market purchases, cash-secured puts options, and capital market financing. The latest acquisition ranks Metaplanet among the top ten global corporate Bitcoin holders, surpassing firms like Semler Scientific and Bitcoin Group.

The company aims to own 0.1% of Bitcoin's total supply by 2026, a goal further propelled by the recent addition of Eric Trump to its strategic advisory board.
