WalletConnect (WCT) Shines as Binance Launchpool’s 67th Project
On April 10, 2025, Binance announced WalletConnect (WCT) as the latest addition to its Launchpool platform, marking it as the 67th project to debut on this innovative staking program. WalletConnect, an open-source protocol designed to seamlessly connect users to decentralized applications (dApps) across multiple blockchains, is generating significant buzz in the crypto community for its user-centric approach to Web3 connectivity.
What is WalletConnect (WCT)? WalletConnect’s WCT token powers its decentralized network, facilitating secure interactions between digital wallets and dApps. Since its inception in 2018, the protocol has enabled over 180 million connections for more than 30 million users, partnering with heavyweights like Optimism, Uniswap, Ledger, and the Ethereum and Solana Foundations. Built on Optimism’s OP Mainnet, WCT serves as the network’s staking, fee, and governance token, giving holders a say in its decentralized future.
Binance Launchpool: How It Works Starting April 11, 2025, Binance users can farm WCT tokens by staking BNB, FDUSD, or USDC in dedicated pools over a four-day period ending April 14. Out of a total supply of 1 billion WCT tokens, 40 million (4%) are allocated as Launchpool rewards, with 85% going to the BNB pool, 10% to USDC, and 5% to FDUSD. An additional 10 million tokens will be distributed through Binance’s “Learn & Earn” campaign. Rewards are distributed hourly, offering flexibility for participants to withdraw staked assets while retaining earned WCT.
Why It Matters The Launchpool debut positions WCT as a high-potential project, with Binance set to list it on April 15, 2025, under trading pairs like WCT/USDT, WCT/USDC, and WCT/BNB. The token carries Binance’s Seed Tag, signaling its early-stage promise and potential volatility. With a circulating supply of 186.2 million at launch (18.62% of total), WCT aims to incentivize participation in its ecosystem, which already supports thousands of dApps and wallets globally.#WCTLaunchpool
