Ripple has announced its largest acquisition to date: the $1.25 billion purchase of prime brokerage firm Hidden Road. Hidden Road provides clearing and brokerage services for over 300 institutional clients, processing more than $3 trillion annually. After the deal closes, Ripple plans to use its RLUSD stablecoin as collateral across brokerage products. The acquisition comes amid a more favorable regulatory environment, following Ripple’s recent legal win against the SEC.
