According to PANews, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin discussed the blockchain's long-term objectives at the 'Web3 Scholars Summit 2025' in Hong Kong. He emphasized Ethereum's aim to achieve 12-second native asynchronous communication between Layer 1 (L1) and Layer 2 (L2) networks, aiming to reduce bridging delays and costs.
Buterin proposed a four-step plan to reach these goals. The strategy includes a 'ZK+TEE+OP two-out-of-three' design, asynchronous L1SLOAD reading from L1, a unified proof integration mechanism, and the deployment of low-latency validators. He highlighted that while users will still have the option to use intent modes for faster or more cost-effective experiences, the foundational communication system will evolve towards being low-cost and highly integrated.
