What is web3 airdrop?

Airdropping is also quite common in real life. We usually call it 'shearing sheep', such as discount coupons from shopping platforms, the 'cut a knife' feature on Pinduoduo, or even older folks gathering to receive eggs. These are all methods businesses use to attract traffic.

In web3, there are also many companies that need a large number of users to generate active data in the early stages. The project team can use this data to seek financing. The project team can better develop the project after obtaining financing. After reaching a certain stage, the project team will issue tokens, and at that time, they will distribute a portion of the tokens to early participants who have made contributions and meet the requirements. Once the tokens are listed on exchanges and circulate in the market, users can sell the airdropped tokens they have.

What do you need to prepare for airdrops?

1. Device

Airdropping can be done on both mobile phones and computers, but using a phone is definitely not as convenient as a computer! It's best to have both. Here, I recommend using an iPhone and a MAC computer, which can greatly enhance security.

2. VPN

This is what we refer to as 'climbing over the wall'. You can buy a fast connection, which has a low entry barrier but is slightly more expensive. Currently, I am using a proxy software combined with subscription nodes. I have installed two proxy software: Clash and Clash Verge, which can basically connect to most subscriptions available on the market. For iPhones, I use Shadowrocket (which requires a foreign ID for download).

3. Wallet

Don't reach into your pocket yet; the wallet mentioned is not the one in your pocket. The wallet referred to here is a web3 wallet.

Download Google Chrome on your computer, then go to the plugin center to install the 'OKEX Web3 Wallet' extension. After installation, follow the prompts to create your own wallet. Be sure to save your mnemonic phrase well, as it will help you recover your wallet. Remembering your password is of no use. If you forget your mnemonic phrase, you will no longer be able to access your wallet.

4. Four-piece set

The three-piece set here refers to a Google email account, a Twitter account, a Discord account, and a Telegram account. This is the basic setup for airdrop accounts. If you can't register yourself, you can also buy them for just a few dollars each.

Summary

Log in to Google Chrome with the above four-piece set, and you will have set up the basic environment for airdropping. In the future, we will also provide tutorials on exchange deposits, on-chain wallet transfers, and multi-account airdropping, etc.
