The Pi Network is adding email-based two-factor authentication to the overall account management and verification. This change addresses the challenges of the current SMS (text message) account verification, enhances security, and lays the groundwork for future verification methods such as passwords and biometrics. To ensure a secure transition, a system-level analysis and inspection were required to verify how pioneers use the new method to validate their accounts, which led to a temporary pause in migration.
