Billionaire Warren Buffett said that those who buy Bitcoin do so hoping to find others willing to pay more for it.

Before the Berkshire annual meeting on Saturday, Buffett said that Bitcoin is "rat poison."

Comparing the demand for Bitcoin to the 17th century tulip mania in the Netherlands, he said that the mystique behind the currency has led to a rise in its price, reports Telegraph.

Berkshire vice chairman and Buffett's long-time partner, Charlie Munger, was even more direct, calling Bitcoin useless.
