🚨 Bitcoin ( BTC ) Consolidates at $97K, Official Trump ( TRUMP ) and Other Meme Coins Bleed Out Heavily (Weekend Watch).
The last 24 hours have been relatively quiet for $BTC and several large-cap altcoins. The primary cryptocurrency has displayed minimal volatility, trading close to the same level as yesterday. Many of its major competitors such as $ETH , XRP, and $SOL have followed suit, with prices remaining stable.
In contrast, the meme coin sector has seen significant declines. TRUMP has been particularly hard-hit, experiencing substantial losses.
BTC BARELY MOVES
After a turbulent business week with BTC prices swinging between just under $95,000 and nearly $99,000, the weekend has been notably calm. Factors such as potential tariffs from Donald Trump and recent CPI data contributed to the earlier volatility. However, BTC has settled around $97,500 since February 15. This represents a mere 0.5% change over the week.
The asset's market capitalization holds steady at $1.93 trillion, while its dominance over alternative coins has slightly increased to 59.8%.
HOW ARE THE ALTS DOING?
The broader market consolidation has affected major altcoins. ETH has stabilized at approximately $2,700, XRP around $2.80, and SOL hovering at about $195. Some altcoins have shown gains, with LTC pumping by 4% to a monthly high over $135 and TRX climbing by 2.5%.
Other altcoins like ADA, $LINK, AVAX, HBAR, and HYPE have seen minor declines. The meme coin sector continues to struggle, with TRUMP plummeting by 10% to $18.60. Other meme coins such as DOGE, SHIB, BONK, and WIF have also recorded losses.
The total cryptocurrency market cap currently stands at approximately $3.23 trillion, marking a 0.18% decrease for the day.
