According to PANews, Stacks Layer2 network has successfully implemented the Nakamoto upgrade, as announced by co-founder Muneeb Ali on the X platform. This upgrade ensures 100% finality for Stacks Layer2 transactions, with transaction ordering and reversal now protected by Bitcoin's entire hash power. The introduction of 'Fast Blocks' reduces transaction delays to a few seconds, compared to Bitcoin's 10-40 minutes. Stacks will no longer fork from Bitcoin, with the only way to fork Stacks L2 being a reorganization of Bitcoin itself. The Nakamoto upgrade also lays the groundwork for the launch of SBTC, expected within the next 4-6 weeks. Core developers have released this version with a focus on network security and significant upgrades. In the coming weeks, further optimizations for network bandwidth and latency will be introduced. These upgrades are normal node upgrades and not critical consensus upgrades.
