What happens when you send Bitcoin to the wrong network?
Imagine sending Bitcoin and, with one wrong click, realizing you chose the wrong network. What happens? Basically, your cryptos could disappear forever.
When you make a Bitcoin transfer, it needs to be sent within the correct network, such as the Bitcoin Network. But if you accidentally choose an incompatible network — such as Ethereum or Binance Smart Chain — your funds could be lost. This is because these networks do not “talk” to each other directly, and the addresses, even though they may seem similar, work in completely different ways.
Some exchanges offer support to try to recover the funds, but it is not always guaranteed. Outside of them, the situation is even more complicated, because there is no central “administration” on the blockchain that you can call to correct the error.
In the world of crypto, a mistake can be costly. That is why reviewing every detail before confirming a transaction is essential.
