đ¨ January 21: Official Announcement â Executive Order Establishes Department of Government Efficiency (#DOGE )
In accordance with the powers granted by the U.S. Constitution and law, the President has issued an executive order to establish the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to implement the DOGE agenda, aiming to modernize federal technology and software to maximize efficiency and productivity. đď¸â¨
Key DOGE Structure Updates:
⢠U.S. Digital Service (USDS) Restructuring:
The U.S. Digital Service will be renamed to the United States DOGE Service (USDS) and positioned within the Executive Office of the President. đĽď¸
⢠Temporary Organization Creation:
A USDS Administrator will be appointed to report to the White House Chief of Staff. Additionally, a temporary body called the United States DOGE Service Temporary Organization will be established under 5 U.S. Code § 3161 to execute an 18-month DOGE agenda, set to terminate on July 4, 2026. The termination of this temporary body will not affect other provisions of the order. đ
⢠DOGE Teams Deployment:
Each federal agency must form a DOGE team of at least four membersâtypically comprising a team lead, engineer, HR specialist, and legal advisor. These teams must be hired or assigned within 30 days and will work in coordination with the USDS administrator to implement the DOGE agenda. đ¤
