Putin signed a law on taxation of cryptocurrencies. Main points:

🔹 digital currency is recognized as property;

🔹 income of individuals from cryptocurrency transactions will be included in the general tax base with income from securities trading;

🔹 personal income tax rate: for amounts up to 2.4 million rubles per year — 13%, above this level — 15%;

🔹 mining and sale of digital currencies are exempt from VAT;

🔹 crypto miners are prohibited from switching to the payment of a single agricultural tax, a special regime for the self-employed and simplified taxation;

🔹 income of organizations from mining is subject to profit tax at the standard rate of 25%.

The main provisions of the law will come into force on January 1.
