According to Odaily, stablecoin issuer Circle has announced plans to release a new version of its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP V2) in early 2025. The initial rollout will support Ethereum, Base, and Avalanche, with additional blockchain integrations to follow.
The updated CCTP aims to significantly improve the speed of cross-chain USDC transfers, offering low-latency settlements measured in seconds rather than minutes. Circle assures that all cross-chain transactions will be fully secured by the company, enhancing the reliability and efficiency of digital asset transfers across different blockchain networks. This development is part of Circle's ongoing efforts to streamline and secure digital currency transactions, catering to the growing demand for seamless blockchain interoperability.
