According to PANews, the X platform has announced an expansion of its gray verification marks to include a wider range of government-related positions globally. This update, shared through the official Safety account on the platform, now encompasses governors, local government agencies, and other government-related roles worldwide. The newly added categories for verification include First Ladies or Gentlemen, Deputy Ministers, Governors or Chief Ministers, and Ambassadors. This initiative aims to enhance the identification and support of global governments and related institutions.
Previously, Elon Musk revealed that Twitter would trial a new multi-color verification system. Under this system, company accounts will receive a gold verification mark, government officials will be identified with a gray mark, and individuals will be recognized with a blue mark. This approach is designed to provide clear distinctions among different types of accounts, thereby improving the platform's ability to verify and authenticate users across various sectors.
